I got the expansion already for when I put a volume pedal where the screwdrivers are. I think I should keep the whammy and wah pedals off board. I don't have experience with gear at all. I played dry for my whole life. I'm thinking about going wireless from the whole setup to my amp and from my guitar to the board. Is that a good idea or should I just run cables?

i have a sennheisher G4 wireless reciever and transmitter station with a pair of body packs for sending/receiving wireless monitor and mic/guitar. it does work. it's fast, there's no delay. but reception requires consideration, antenna placement, and the transmission does kind of effect tone a little. i don't think someone who hasn't gotten to the point with cables that they're like, 'im losing money not being wireless' really needs them. i got them for zoom etc. kind of costly, 2600 or so i think for the transmitter/receiver pair.

Since Apple Music kept recommending me ozzy I decided to sit down and learn mama Iโ€™m coming home all the way through. Itโ€™s actually pretty simple if you listen to the isolated tracks and watch the zakk wylde play through on YouTube. Iโ€™ll record and post it later. Need to see if I can figure out how to get my Bluetooth midi switcher to change the channels on neural dsp or I will have to record the clean and dirty channels separately. Might do that anyway to get all the harmonies in.

So buy the guitar and a set of whatever Seymour Duncan pickups you want. JB / 59 is a good combination. Then put the Seymour Duncan solderless 500 and 250k pots in it, disable the third tone knob and all the bullshit switches, and put a solderless tele switch in.

make your own cables, any electronics store will sell tips for a buck or two and you just buy a bunch of cable you can cut to match what you need. for the cost of doing a whole pedalboard you're gonna spend more on branded cables than a whole soldering iron setup along with the parts

Is it just me or are musicians kinda cunts? Maybe "hater" is a better word. I'm only just getting a foothold in the scene in my city and I've already come across an alarming amount of big ego people. They shit on other bands, musicians, gear, etc. when like who the hell fucking cares, 90% of us are just nerds with hobbies doing this for fun.

The guy in my band for example told us that we were the only musicians he'd met that were skilled enough to be worth his time. I kinda get the sentiment, but who the fuck says shit like that?

love this guitar bros, it feels so much better than my other Mustang. My other Mustang is on the chopping block (to sell for another vintage Mustang desu) or the modding list because why would I ever play that when I can play this when it just feels better to play? Neck feels better, frets feel better, vibrato feels better, tuners feel better, stays in tune better. This 48 year old guitar from Fenderโ€™s less than desirable late 70s CBS era is just a killer guitar.

it should actually be dependent on your bridge system and scale length. fender-scale floaters do best with 9s, whereas as gibson scale and extended tonality guitars do best with 10s and above. the bridge is important too, you dont want 9s on a FR or it'll go out of tune the second you try to palm mute.
warm-up/practice on heavier strings isn't a bad idea though

There's a paywall for anything decent. Tonexone at $100 is wild. It runs amplitube which is sorta free, but most of the functions work much better having at least the hardware pedal. You can run GarageBand or download amp plug-ins for any DAW, but you need an interface to get around latency or to simply get the guitar into your computer well.

A low-quality bass guitar tends to be more playable than a low-quality regular guitar, because the thicker strings and naturally higher action of a bass are more forgiving of common build issues like poor fretwork or neck relief problems

There is a dude at my city who for years that just strums random basic chords and he stills gets a bunch of euros thrown at him especially when the weather is nice.
So that gave me the idea to just get a busking license for a day and just take my old microcube and sit down and do scale practice with a looper for some basic chord harmonization. I actually made a few bucks doing that.
But for some reason I still feel too self-conscious and anxious to do it again or even try "proper" busking playing some covers or original material.

Iโ€™m saying, for one of the cheapest options available it comes without sharp fret edges, very close to properly intonated and it stays in tune for days through slapping and popping. What more could you ask for? I may have gotten a stellar example, but the consensus seems pretty good on the Sonic line in general. I have a Sonic Mustang as well that I have tuned down to C and it holds that tuning with acoustic gauge strings very well. That one need some fret cleanup though.

I'm guessing he's never strung anything up on a older style tuner and did any of the knot techniques some suggest with those. With a locking tuner, you just need to thread through the hole, maybe only give a little slack, and just wind up. It's never going to get better or worse than that.

Im thinking you must be a boomer who thinks anyone can just walk in to a 'record company' and get a contract. Do a search on youtube and find out how much artists are making from their 'record companies' now (hint, 'record companies' just take a percentage of your streaming and dont do much else)

you cant make any decent money selling your music on streaming sites, you can make money touring, you can only fight to get yourself a social media following, so I really wonder why anyone even bothers trying to make it in music now

yeah when anything on your rackmount android amplifier substitute breaks it will be unserviceable and board level repair, on something like that, will cost 1250. where a totally analog valve amp can be repaired by a farmer with 2 dollar parts, perpetually.

when does an amp sim sound good? when the tube amp is in the shop or stolen.

I'm not being antagonistic though. Embrace it. Maybe Tim Henson meant it as an insult. I dunno. But it made me realize why it was good in the first place. Like we're talking about Bowie. He had Ronno for awhile. He could blast you into space with one bend. The end of Moonage Daydream is one or two notes. lol. But that's all you need, if you're him.

I can't read those words without going through the whole song fuck you.

What's the difference of never knowing at all
When every step I take is always too small?
Maybe it's just something I can't admit
But lately, I feel like I don't give a shit
Motivation's such an aggravation
Accusations, don't know how to take them
Inspiration's getting hard to fake it
Concentration, never hard to break it
Situation never what you want it to be
What's the point of never making mistakes?
Self-indulgence, such a hard habit to break
It's all just a waste of time in the end
Don't care, so why should I even pretend?
Motivation's such an aggravation
Accusations, don't know how to take them
Inspiration's getting hard to fake it
Concentration, never hard to break it
Situation never what you wanted
Nothing's new (everything's the same)
Keeps on draggin' me down (It's getting kind of lame)
Falling further behind (there's nothing to explain)
No matter what you say, nothing's gonna change my mind
Can't depend on doubt until the end
It seems like leaving friends has become this year's trend
And though I can't pretend, afraid to be this way
It's not the same, but who's to blame for all those stupid things I never said?
Motivation's such an aggravation
Accusations, don't know how to take them
Inspiration's getting hard to fake it
Concentration, never hard to break it
Motivation's such an aggravation
Accusations, don't know how to take them
Inspiration's getting hard to fake it
Concentration, situation never what you want it to be
Never what you want it to be
Never what you want it to be

Has anyone written a song for the Hulkster yet?
It should be called "Basketball Nigger" and be full of blast beats.
