John! The most rock n' roll beatle. Fuck George and that fag Paul.
You can hear the future of rock in John Lennon. All the Kurt Cobain's that would come later were born from that scratchy scream of John's. He could make it sound tuneful too. This wasn't just doing wild man, Little Richard screaming. His screams elicited feelings beyond excitement, like his pained screams in Mother.
Paul had a cleaner voice and more range than John. He famously had to sing the bridge to Hard Day's Night ("When I'm home!") because John couldn't hit the notes. He is a little more old fashioned. You can hear his influences clearly, Little Richard when he's rocking out, Fats Domino when he's doing music hall/easy listening stuff, Buddy Holly when he's doing ballads.
George is the least talented singer, but he's different. He's softer. When they did covers on their old albums he never screamed on any of the rockers like John and Paul did. He's more relaxed. He reminds me a lot of the indie artists that we have today. I've never looked it up but I bet George was Elliott Smith's favorite Beatles.
She's leaving home is lame and should have been sang by someone else
Paul is corny
