NTA, but
>squeaky nip voices
they talk like little children
>overacted, exaggerated, melodramatic delivery of lines
related with the first point, they act like children, the humor is childish
>choppy animation
depends on which anime
>sameface syndrome
most animes have all the characters with the same face, but they change the color of the hair and the eyes
>fandom
most anime fans act like little children

One of the weirdest things zoomers who glorify old anime do is fetishize old ovas when 90% of the time ovas were created by tiny independant studios in their basement who didn't have the money or talent to make a movie or TV series.
Most ovas were garbage of the lowest order with unfinished animation, nonsensical plots that amount to "moeblob gets raped" and often ended without a conclusion

Anime itself is usually fine but the types of people who disproportionately obsess over anime are so lifeless and unremarkable that they make prog genre autism dorks look like Samuel L. Jackson or George Clooney by comparison.
>>127212802
These are all fair points too but when a show actually manages to have solid characters and story, you can ignore it most of the time. But yeah, no matter how "adult and mature" some of their themes and subject matter may be, most of the time it's handled with this weird sort of child-like clumsiness. Young adult novels commit many of the same sins, but you will never be able to reason with the hormonal teens that love this stuff.

it's just a wasted album
plenty of great ideas in there that could have been worked in the studio, but were put out terribly and with awful production
half the time you can barely hear the solos, and the music sounds all muffled
the band was at their creative peak, it could have been one of their masterpieces, yet it sounds like an extras release for Larks

prog indulged in classical and folk influences, both genres that England enjoyed a lot
continental Europe didn't have as much rock music culture, but some countries developped their own prog scenes (Italy and Germany being the most proeminent ones)
and classical music never had the same appeal in the US, which made them blend rock with jazz, making fusion

Britain and most European countries had public radio and TV that provided underground rock music a mass platform that didn't really exist in the US, and it directly helped expand the scene. John Peel started at the BBC in 1967 and immediately began featuring bands from the cutting edge of psych rock, experimental and folk, which would soon coalesce into prog rock, and the whole country got the chance to hear it instead of small pockets in individual cities, and more or less the same thing played out on the continent. The broadcast connection is not one that's talked about much at all in the genre's rise as a uniquely British/European phenomenon, but it should be.

Don't you mean the Cream Lemon anime? I don't recall there being a Cream Lemon game.

He's the artist and character designer for a lot of Cream Lemon, which were a series of 80s loli hentai/ecchi OVAs

I didn't know he as still around making art.

Correct but there were also multiple cream lemon VN games. It was an early multimedia franchise they got games, anime and manga. the success of visual novels as a genre more or less traces back to them. As they were all stand alone stories they could cover genres from fantasy to sci fi to just their tradition "lesbian rich woman molesting her maids in the mansion" settings.

>Roger Waters, once the lead singer of Pink Floyd, was sufficiently inspired by a book of mine to produce a CD called Amused to Death. This fact so elevated my prestige among undergraduates that I am hardly in a position to repudiate him or his kind of music. Nor do I have the inclination for any other reason. Nonetheless, the level of sensibility required to appreciate the music of Roger Waters is both different and lower than what is required to appreciate, let us say, a Chopin รฉtude.

I don't even fully agree with his thesis but that's absolutely not what it is.
>TV and computers are making us dumber
>we are literally living in brave new world maaaaaan
>muh kids these days don't write anymore
>we must retvrn to 19th century standards of discourse
I think a lot of his observations of media were right on the money but the overall argument was hampered by unrealistically elitist expectations and sentimentality for the past.

I'm Ratledge hater and also and avid Fripp hater
frankly I have a hard time picking which one I hate the most
Ratledge was vastly more skilled and talented than Fripp, but his wasn't as great after he cowardly kicked off Wyatt
at the same time, Fripp is a mediocre and lame dipshit guitarist who was lucky enough to be around many talented musicians, enough to put out a few great albums in different formations - despite his constant underminings and autistic fits
it is a hard pick

>at the same time, Fripp is a mediocre and lame dipshit guitarist who was lucky enough to be around many talented musicians, enough to put out a few great albums in different formations - despite his constant underminings and autistic fits
Fripp is one of the true geniuses of modern music and a godsend to anyone who is attracted to prog for the experimental and cavalier attitude it started with. You don't have a career as long as Fripp's, working with as many hugely talented people as he has by accident. It's also not by random chance that most of these peoples best work was with Fripp (especially in King Crimson). I've seen people credit Ian MacDonald and others for giving Fripp a career in the first place with their talents but what Did Ian do after KC? Nothing he did after even came close to his work in ITCOCK. MacDonald could have been viewed as one of the great songwriters of his time if he had kept up with KC but instead his lack of ambition and taste led up to true mediocrity with Foreigner (Who he wasn't even the face of). Even if every era of KC doesn't hit for you you have to admire the conviction to keep pushing in different directions and trying new things. How many prog guys from the 60-70s were doing things as interesting as the ProjecKts 30-40 years into their careers?
