I'm definitely the wrong demographic for this so don't take this the wrong way but something is really off. The composition is good and the singing is fine but it just feels boring. Then some songs have this goofy synth that makes me wanna kms goddam. You're clearly a good musician so why release this boring ass shit? Maybe my grandpa would think it's a toe tapper or whatever. If I wanted a girl to break up with me I'd tell her this was my favorite album and play it all the time.

It's a real grind to get good recording/production skills going (but you should start: cheap mic, free DAW, metronome on, have fun, etc.), that or a lot of luck/money to make the connections to find good production... That's sort of the goal, really. To work on my really rough production skills and at least get some drums going (and maybe synths) along with the guitar and vocals.
I was listening to a lot of Molchat Doma when I started that, and imagined some similar instrumentation might be cool (found a vst using samples of the drum machine they use).
Then I got really sidetracked while I was having fun with the synths and all.

That flute playing sounds good and the repeating pattern give off a cool folk-drone vibe? I'm not much into noise so can't say much about that but a quick skim gives me the impression of a very analogue and industrial sound and production, which is fairly rare in the genre. Almost sounds like something from the 80s? I'd love to hear you combine your two styles into something in between accessible and abrasive: Let the flute lead with a nice tune and have your industrial hellscape as a backdrop. Cute vidya music intro! Should've have had some proper production and been put in an indie intro sequence or forest level. Once the song really starts it's nice and pensive: The shitty bedroom reverb sound aside this is a great track and one I wouldn't bat an eye hearing on the radio or played live somewhere. You've handle the guitar well and got a truly great sense for melody and composition.

Really love the way this tips from really abstract is-this-gonna-go-anywhere free jazz into something cohesive and effective once the guitar comes in. You've got the potential for something really special here.

My only issues: a) I don't know if it's the recording technique, effects, or mixing, but the guitar sounds a bit too "distant", given how it's clearly the centerpiece of the whole ensemble. I get that the whole EP is kinda raw-sounding, but I feel like something like this should sound cleaner. b) I know it's free psych, but part of me wishes the guitar was a little more locked in with the rhythm section.

In 2016, the name of Gustavo Porta-Cuesta Fuentes echoed throughout Guatemala's influent ears. A 31-year-old man, a civilian and high-ranking public official, was accused of serial murder. The brutality of his actions shocked his peers, with more than a dozen bodies found buried in the vast backyard of his home on the Guatemalan coast. The victims? Young women, whose tragic fates would remain hushed up by the political power and corruption that covered up the case.
His actions, however, could not be kept secret for long, and he was finally arrested, sentenced to death and awaiting execution by hanging, which was scheduled for 2022. As Porta-Cuesta held a high position in the government, the case was hushed up and all records disappeared, with nothing leaking to the media. Even his name was erased. Therefore, there is no information left on the web about this case.
But, in the middle of 2024, I received a folder containing several sound recordings, whose origins went back to Porta-Cuesta. The strangest thing: these recordings had nothing or little to do with the crimes itself, but rather with his other identity – that of an experimental musician. Under the pseudonym "LFC", Porta-Cuesta recorded albums of experimental music that, until then, were unknown to the public.
These recordings are disturbing, defying the conventions of traditional music and delving into unsettling territories that echo the chaos and darkness of his own life.
Although details about the original case have been erased, and even Porta-Cuesta's name has disappeared from official records, these recordings offer a window into the troubled mind of a serial killer who, it seems, was also trying to express his anguish in a completely different way.
