And now, let's all sit back and relax while Keith Moon recites oetry over the blissful sounds of Laguna Sunrise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xieq9zOynos&list=RDXieq9zOynos&start_radio=1
Somehow I had never listened to vol 4 before despite having heard all the other classic sabbath albums and holy shit supernaut might be a top 5 song of theirs
My new favorite Ozzy story is when he went down into the audience during a Black Sabbath gig and beat the shit out of some asshole who was beating up a ten year old kid.

FX was an alright transition song that many would adopt later. Changes is a meh radio-friendly song that ironically enough many would adopt later a well
Changes is a great song, why not include it? From your perspective any song that wasn't metal or hard rock should be removed from Sabbath albums and that's bullshit. Remove Solitude off Paranoid? Go fuck yourself. Remove Embryo off Masters of Reality? No.

Most of their 70s albums have those kind of songs. It wasn't until Dio came along that Iommi realized that he should fill the albums with rockers
Changes is pure sovl (Solitude is still even better though) and FX is a mood and ambience. It sets up Supernaut well.
There. I solved it. FX finally clicked for me.

i don't hate Changes but i can easily skip it and not miss it.
FX could work as a set up, but it's too long and meandering for what it is. i hear no problem hearing Supernaut straight from Tomorrow's Dream, works quite well actually.
I love this album, but is it just me or do they not sound like themselves? It sounds like an album by a different band, not Black Sabbath >>127261632
Hell yeah, the opening whiny riff is some of their best music
Changes: >I've lost the best friend that I ever had >She was my woman, I loved her so >But it's too late now, I've let her go
Then literally the next album: >Feel so happy since I met that girl >When we're making love it's something out of this world >Feels so good to know that she's all mine >Going to love that woman till the end of time

Changes is about Ward going though a divorce.
SC, according to Geezer: >"[Ozzy's] original lyrics were based on a sex tape we'd been listening to; in the studio where we were recording, they'd been recording English voiceovers on a German porno. Unfortunately, I changed them into a more 'acceptable' version."
