The Irish famously punch way above their weight with regard to producing amazing literature (poetry and prose), and music.
This is known.

not that it matters, there's nothing wrong with being Indian!

I'm Irish, so genuinely pondering: I've noticed that a crazy high number of English musicians are of (usually first-gen) Irish heritage, so there clearly is some punching above their weight. But why then are there so little musicians of note straight out of Ireland?
I wonder if it's because talented musicians in Ireland just go the trad route. A lot of musician mates and acquittances of mine generally go that way. So perhaps the immigrant Irish, being unmoored from trad culture, found their outlet in conventional (pop/rock) music. Kinda disappointing if that's the case. I do like a bit of trad music and all, but not having most of the talent/creativity trapped just within that bubble would be nice.

Ireland just has no cities like Manchester, Liverpool or London to foster a thriving, contemporary, music scene. It’s a rural backwards-looking country.

Damn yeah, never thought about that part. Dublin and Belfast are teeny, and they're as big as it gets.

Uhm no. None of The Beatles had Irish immigrant parents they’re parents were all English albeit sometimes of Irish descent. In Lennon and Harrison’s case it was only one parent of Irish descent(John’s dads grandad was from Ireland) and Ringo’s parents were both English
