by in large, yes
because friendship and irl is dying
therfore no group of friends hanging in the garage jamming until music comes out also there is a severe lack of good vocalists. Disney has a monopoly on female vocalists. They aint learning on their own no more its all pre-fabricated industry plants that get thrown away like used thongs when they wall at 30

that means you have to go outside and interact with people enough to put one together
it's easier to just be a dj by yourself or make AI music

Not in my scene. However, there seems to be a fundamental lack of awareness that's apparent in most of these bands because I usually just hear a wall of sound before I put my earplugs back in.

Yes. The rock band is no longer in vogue and the singer songwriter is the big thing. It's cheaper and easier for record labels to deal with a single singer than a whole band. This isn't a new trend either. We went from choruses and orchestras that could have over 100 people to big bands which had about 20 people, to modern rock bands with that generally had 3-5 people, to solo artists and the record labels are hoping AI can remove that last person.

The lack of social interaction definitely contributes to it. It seems like a lot of kids these days don't have an interest in instruments or hobbies that don't involve doom scrolling or otherwise staring at a screen which is sad. I wish I had started playing an instrument as a kid instead of playing video games.
