Waylon Jennings sucks
Anonymous No.127300364 >>127300396
He was one of the best voices in country music history. Not in love with many of his songs outside The Highwaymen, e
But I've always liked Are You Sure Hank Done it This Way

All those guys suck. Him and Nelson, Cash might be the worst though.

Country in general isn't good, esp "outlaw" country (can you get a more cringe name for a music genre?) these guys were just a bunch of fat, old guys who pretended to be tough. Johnny cash is the worst of them, he's responsible for making that fraud Rick Rubin a thing so fuck him for that

Both country and rap are gay. The rap-country era was the fucking worst. Glad we're past that now

Rick Rubin is like the dark knight of music. The punished hero.

None of them wrote their own songs. All they did was covers. If you're an artist who just covers others peoples songs then you're not a good artist, if all you do is covers like Gaylon Jennings did then that would indicate that you're lacking in talent and creativity. Also if you're pumping out absurd volumes of material (these guys put out 70+ albums over their careers) then you're not good. Musicians that put out dozens of albums that nobody will ever listen to is something I'll never understand. Musicians that prioritise quantity over quality are shit. Less is more.

There's a great story about Waylon Jennings. He was recording a session in a studio located in an unforgiving and diverse part of Chicago. Lunch comes, he and a bandmate step out for a sandwich. With all that jewelry asin pic related. They come back, their knuckles are bruised.
Say what you want about Waylon so long as you say it at a distance.

Waylon Jennings

Distinctions Not Cost-Effective [1970s]: Waylon lets you know he has balls by singing like he's twisting them, I wrote about the self-serving Ladies Love Outlaws, and although I've softened on him some since, even come to enjoy him when Willie is there to cut the grease, his macho melodrama will always rub me the wrong way.

Distinctions Not Cost-Effective [1980s]: Once you either loved or hated him. No more.

Never cared for Waylon, his range isn't that good nor is his control. Very shaky in certain registers. Vibrato sounds forced, I don't like it.
