Paul and John hyped that song way up out of pity for him.

It was only fair George should get his own no.1 at that point, it was his turn after all those years

>Frank Sinatra began performing "Something" live in 1971 and quickly went into the studio to make a recorded version. He incorrectly referred to the song's authors as Lennon-McCartney for a number of years until finally being corrected. Harrison himself was not initially pleased with Sinatra's cover version. "I just didn't care about him that much," he recalled. "To me he was part of the generation before mine. I was far more interested in hearing James Brown's and Shirley Ellis's covers of 'Something.'" Harrison did eventually soften on Sinatra's cover and in 1992 started performing it live with its slightly altered lyrics.

Insecure about his abilities starting around the rubber soul release. Took comfort in the judgey moralizing of Hindu gurus. The combo turned him into a bit of a cunt.

This hits the nail on the head. He couldnt compete with Lennon Macca songwriting so he got high and sought refuge in being a stupid pretentious Indiaphile. He was just a mopey downer and Eric Clapton fucked his wife and stole her.

Which is sad because he wrote some of the best Beatles songs. Taxman, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something all bangers
