It feels like ChatGPT's prose was modeled on Pitchfork reviews. Just a lot of ridiculous proclamations and metaphors without substance.

This is going to sound pretentious, but I honestly think most music reviews I've read in my lifetime are godawful, and that's not even including the ones you see on RYM that just amount to "It's peak because I said so, 5 stars." Like, most music reviewers seem to be terrified of describing the actual music in concrete terms, or analyzing anything from a specific track. So they either try to justify why the album is good without invoking its sonic aspects, or worse, they pretend that this stuff doesn't matter and just talk about themselves. Ironically I would prefer if more reviews went into personal opinion territory, instead of being clerical track-by-track breakdowns like you see in places. But people take it either too little or too far, they can't find a medium between saying "I liked this, it sounded good to my ears" and writing a fucking blogpost that doesn't even invoke the thing they're supposed to be talking about.

Oh and since everybody consumes music via low quality streams on Bluetooth earbuds now, they might as well have not even bothered. If you can't put in the effort to find a lossless rip then you obviously aren't cut out to do "serious" critique of an artform, no matter what the genre is.
