Liking rap past a certain age makes me think you're low iq or something. I always think of the guy Louis theroux interviewed who got severe brain damage and acted like a tard and suddenly out of nowhere started supporting Arsenal football club and listening to rap when he never did before. I can rap along to all of illmatic, all of the wu tang clan and odb, all of Big L's discog, all of gang starr and KRS One. And kanyes early stuff is actually good art. But at a certain point you just HAVE to tire of it all. It's the same thing, over and over again. No deep meaning behind anything. It masquerades as great poetry and sometimes it can be, but it's always mired behind convention, with fucking "beats" (the most simplestic sampling and stealing of better ideas) and macho showboating. It's so simplistic and trapped in the corner it painted itself into. New artists are just painting the corner smaller and smaller for themselves and their music fucking sucks because of it.
