I don't go out anymore, except to pubs that don't have music and fishing, so I just use whatever the Amazon delivery drivers and my chav neighbours are blasting out of their vans and cars, to gauge what's hot and what's not.

Rock was a prerequesite for Rap. Same degenerate ethos.
Anonymous No.127317799

Rock actually takes a smidge of talent and rhythm to abide in composition. The spirit of rock is more alive than rap itself I'd argue regardless of how you're looking at radio charts. That shit is not important and normalfags do not like looking out for different music genres appealing to their psyche. Imagine being doomed to liking a genre and its subgenres forever, which is the life of the normie.

under normal circumstances, it would actually be fertile grounds for some really cool underground stuff. since its such an enormous monolith to push back against.

the problem?
theres no fucking underground. theres ONLY top 40 hits, and nothing in between. you either try your luck at the soundcloud rapper lottery, or you dont do anything at all. DIY spots are dropping left and right, and no ones stepping up to fill that void. even the ppl with enough get-up-and-go in em to play an instrument are too scared to play guitar for fear of being called boomer cringe if they accidentally bend a note the wrong way.
its like a self-inflicted state of cultural paralysis. frozen from fear of cringe.
ffs the alt kids now are digging through fucking korn records trying to find literally ANYTHING thats not just niggerbabblecore

rap is dead, kids are more interested in streamers now and seeing rappers have to suck up to those streamers to get any kind of promo for their album further killed their aura

while rock is dead, county music is ascending…with the same FL studio trap drum kits that you’d hear on a 2008 Gucci mane song

I'd say trap is more dead. Look how big the beef was between Kendrick and Drake; as far as pop culture goes rap is still dominant.

>>127321925
The pop country trend was more political, sonically it is a subpar genre with little replay value compared to all the 80s interpolated modern pop hits that have been dominating the charts and will likely continue to. The Assumptions slowed blue guy dancing trend is basically 80s synthpop and is one of the biggest trends I've ever seen.

It's weird to see the culture of this site shift from "this place sucks and most shit posted on here is bullshit" to "I'm an enlightened being purely because I post on this anime website and that puts me above the normies who prowl the world like sheep unaware of it's esoteric truths". So many people on here now are incredibly self-important.

this is good because theoretically, it's less pretentious or less affectatious to rap, which is talking in rhythm, than sing, and it's easier for the average person to rap than sing

Mainstream music hasn't been white for close to two generations now (unless you include balless faggots like Harry Styles or mudsharks like Adele) let that sink in.
