Cover Art
Visual artist here (picrel is not mine). What does /mu/ think is missing in either mainstream and/or underground music cover art nowadays? Although the artwork should compliment the music and not the other way around (Music>Artwork) and discussion on what is missing in the scene from a musical perspective is thus more important I am interested in the visual aspect. Cover art is a first impression of what an album/single is going to be about and needs to communicate in a matter of seconds or less before a potential customer gets exposed to another one when browsing. I have my own vision/opinion on the subject and see some "gaps in the market" of 2025 and beyond but I am curious as to what /mu/ thinks. If possible, keep it as basic as possible.
>tl;dr what kind of cover art does /mu/ want to see more?

I'm also a visual artist and I'm really into album covers... huge influence, to the point that most of my pieces are 1:1
I like that whenever there's a 'favorite covers' thread theres so much diversity in the tastes and that makes me think of possibilities..
I'll come back to this thread later, I gotta do some stuff
here's a cool cover

There's nothing missing in covert art nowadays. You get a piece of every single possible type of cover across the spectrum. I don't know if there's anything left that hasn't been used as such. I guess I'd like to see more artists use photographs from their live shows as album covers.

More giga based high fantasy boob metal.
(not necessarily boob metal but frazettaesque)
