Good band. Guess the strokes took their listeners. No idea that, but probably worth a good listen.

What would a Sanchez and MJ duet sound like in a jazzy prog rock song : https://youtu.be/dv1ypynSLzY?si=edG66HpzQkoIRkX6 >>127337244
Coheed can't hold a candle to MCR, MCR mogs them to death, also, I'm sure I've listened to more music than the likes of you.

Disagree.

Mcr is emo. Strokes garage. Coheed is the strongest musically of both, their only gimmick is they make strong music.

When I was a kid I would go ham over this band. The Neverencer DVD was the first thing I ever pirated. I was listening to Afterman Pt 2 when I was going through Katawa Shoujo.
These days I find them kind of tough to listen to. Second Stage is the best from their classic albums, holds up exceptionally well, but IKSSE gets wanky and a little too into the concept.
I'm going to see them when they come to town later this year but I haven't listened to anything since Color.

Number City and Iron Fist are bangers. I find discographies are the only way I get through these 70+ hour vns. They ham it up with IKSSE, but it's also where the comic peaked. Vaxis onward, it's become expensive to get into for collectors unless you preorder well in advance.

Hope you enjoy the show. I saw them at Showbox Seattle in '23 and was so glad the tour gave them the funds to finally adapt NWFT.

i never listened to them past IV
but second stage and in keeping secrets are things i STILL listen to
really cool riffs, and an actual lead guitarist playing lead parts all the time. maybe the last time i even remember such things being promoted in popular music

havent listened to IV in a long time tho
its annoying having to downtune to Eb standard in order to play along

for me its
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7tWYh-zcxk
i used to just skate around everywhere to this every day after school in 7th grade. then i-robot comes on and you just get paralyzed because its too pretty
its such an odd thing that this strange and technical of music was ever getting promoted alongside absolute schlock like fallout boy

honorable mention for the seekrit song at the end of in keeping secrets
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7Ov9N7Fiak
dangerously strange stuff. wouldnt be out of place for some 70s prog band.

that was maybe one of the best parts about this band
it immediately filtered any insecure faggots who were too scared to get called "emo"

It's not the vocals. The bass is low and highs are piercing.

Hot alt girls everywhere, never seen so many in one place. Lots of jailbait lol. The show itself was glorious, they really spared no expense. They went fully into the theme, not to mentioned Femme Fatales opened for them.

Played the whole of Black Parade and a good number from their debut and TCFSR. No Drowning Lessons, but they played practically everything else I wanted to hear.

>THE WORLD'S NOT BIG ENOUGH
Second Stage introduces the formula, In Keeping Secrets perfects it, then Good Apollo immortalizes it. Rare to get a trio of such great concept albums.

I will say that without reading the comics you get to set your own context to the songs. It's hard to hear it without imagining an epic scale space opera.
