I watched a video by some Japanese guy on youtube on how to clean vinyl records. He said you should just wash it like a plate with a dish soap and water and then spray WD40 on it. People in the comments were saying that it works well so I thought I would do it as well instead of spending money on some special vinyl record cleaning shit.
I tried it with one of my records and since doing it the record sounds like shit. I think I fucked up.

How should I give you proof

you can carefully wash them with soap and water. not sure about the wd40 thing though, sometimes wd40 acts like a mild solvent on petroleum stuff (plastics) and could dissolve it a little
