Just bought these speakers. What am I in for? Also why is there no audiophile general on this board? Don't people care about the quality of their music listening experience?

They look my logitech speakers from 2003. Nice 1" woofers, those'll really push the air around

They get down to 45hz and have a perfect flat frequency response down to 50hz. I got these because I wanted something small without a subwoofer.

Why didn't you get Genelecs then?

Don't listen to anyone in this thread, man. People don't know shit about audio equipment here.

Adam Audio makes incredible studio monitors, so I'm sure these are great for what they are. I've seen really positive reviews and even considered some myself. They will get plenty loud for everyday listening. They're just not studio monitors for actually mixing/mastering original music.

Yes, tiny little speakers will work best for your cuck closets

Just so retards in this thread realize, these are not tiny little speakers like you had in your family computer room in the 2000s >>127363349

They're honestly the perfect kind of speakers to get for casual listening and everyday usage.

been thinking of replacing my aging focal domes with a set of these or the iloud mtm's. it'd be nice to have speakers that have proper low end extension, i have a subwoofer hooked up now to cover it but these newer small monitors have me so intrigued.

i’ve used them. they’re not bad, but asking that speaking to even attempt to play 50hz is bat shit crazy. look. here’s the move- buy a Wiim Ultra streamer and a powered subwoofer. use the usb output of the Wiim to feed the D3V’s usb input and the sub output to feed the sub. crossover at 80hz and use the built in room correction. you will have a legitimately good monitoring system. don’t cheap out on the sub. buy something sealed if possible.

My lack of respect for my fellow man runs so deep that I don't think him worthy of clear, high quality audio.

physics are still unbeaten unfortunately. the more low end you ask these small speakers to attempt, it’s always at the expense of resolution elsewhere. once you can unburden these from needing to do anything under 80hz they become a much more impressive offering.

OP why didn’t you just buy Genelec 8331’s?

yes. psychics exist and Adam Audio hasn’t figured out a way to skirt that, unfortunately, regardless of the fun little graph that is conveniently devoid of distortion specs. what I’m telling you is that it’s a decent speaker when you unburden it from needing to playing material under 80hz. there’s no meaningful low end extension at any reasonable SPL that this speaker can accomplish cleanly. it does many things well- playing frequencies that speakers double the size have a difficult time managing is not one of them. it’s a neat parlor trick, but it’s simply so easy to just get a sub and let these things do the entire rest of the frequency spectrum with a reasonable shot at linearity.

50hz is where an ATC SCM25A rolls off. anyone wanna take a whack at explaining how this 3.5 inch 2 way speaker (with no bass reflex) accomplishes the same frequency response with a fraction of equivalent cone surface area and amplifier power?
