>saves music, again
When that countdown ticked to zero, Swift did indeed announce her 12th album, The Life Of A Showgirl, less than 16 months since she dropped the surprise double album The Tortured Poets Department. It’s up for pre-order now at her site, but she seemingly won’t be detailing it until the New Heights episode premieres Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET. In a new clip posted to the podcast’s socials, she can be seen revealing the cover art, which is blurred out for now. You can see that post below.
Swift has also shared a new 22-song playlist on Spotify entirely comprising prior songs she worked on with pop super-producers Max Martin and Shellback. According to PopCrave, Martin and Shellback are rumored to have produced Swift’s entire new album, which would mark a pause in her long partnerships with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner.

it looks like she's riding a horse. she's going back to country-pop (jumping on the re-emerging trend) and capitalising on the quasi-conservative media bubble backlash happening right now. she already has the audience for it (football adjacent white women)
i expect a 'war' between her fans and beyonce fans over who the real 'queen of america' is. it'll be great for advertising and revenue.

It's crazy that a walled lesbian with the most obnoxious beard on planet earth can still muster enough demand to crash a website. As for the album... Romantic melodrama, retro Americana, a splash of controversy... This formula is all too familiar. And with Max Martin riding shotgun again, it feels a hell of a lot more cynical coming from her than it ever has before. She's filling the trough with this one. Could be a quick cash grab to recoup the money she blew on getting the masters.

neither does beyonce or virtually anyone within mainstream pop. swift never really made actual 'country' music anyway, it's just pandering to an aesthetic and social group/identity.

This is about at the level of Iggy Pop getting back together with Bowie in the 80s in the futile hope that they could spark the same magic from ten years earlier.

Pretty sure Beyonce doesn't have the numbers to even come close Swift, so the Beyonce fans are just being delusional.

Its surprising she went all in with Max Martin again. She seemed to be trying to distance herself from him so people wouldn't say shes just another Max Martin product. She has not worked with him since her Reputation album in 2017 now he seems to be the producer on all the tracks on showgirl. Its pretty clear she wants chart hits and another billion dollar album tour.

Taylor endorsed Sleepy Joe and Kamala. She has no appeal to conservatives who booed her at the Super Bowl. She picked her side already.

She didn't really endorse Kamala. She said she's voting for her and worded it like she didn't really want people voting for her and just said she was to not piss people off, lol.

The current narrative among her fandom circles is that Kelce has 'changed' her and she's now not political or particularly 'progressive' (or whatever); and that she's actually somehow complicit/enabling of the whiplash conservative-leaning pop-culture bubble happening right now.
