Why hasn't mono audio mixing made a comeback? The average normie listens to music on a shitty mono bluetooth speaker now so every song is just being downmixed anyway. Even stereo bluetooth speakers are too close together to actually get any kind of stereo separation out of them. It just makes sense that mainstream music should go back to being mixed in mono for this reason.

>record song in mono
>make a stereo song out of it with the left channel being the original mono track and the right channel being the inverted original mono track
Oh, you can't hear anything over your mono bluethooth speaker? Problem?

I get what you are saying, anon, but you answered your own question.
They listen that way because they don't care.
You certainly wouldn't replace the time and $ spent on multi-channel mixing with mono. So why expend extra effort for the few mono-monkeys who would notice?

Yeah the better battle to fight is trying to make kids care about speaker quality. Loads of people are
>using the worst earbuds/headphones
>using the shittiest fucking computer speakers
>blasting from a car with a garbage system
Any differences between stereo and mono will pale in comparison to the difference between a little boom box and a proper surround sound set up.
