Ironically despite being inspired by Woodstock hippie shit, the lyrics of Lifehouse/Who's Next are pretty timeless and universal.

continuing under the same name after moon bit it was a mistake. completely irreplaceable drummer and sound. imagine if zeppelin would have done the same, except pagey had the sense to know when to end it. in fact, he probably took out one of his magic crystal balls he found in the aleister house which gave him the wisdom to after peering into it.

They had a ton of influence on other musicians at the time. Their cultural impact lives on through their influence rather than their actual songs.

Early Who is a lot different from Who's Next. In fact, I'd argue that Who's Next is really their only true boomer album, and even that has innovative synths and incredible songwriting.

You have to be kidding right? These guys shaped and influenced hard rock, punk rock, power pop and grunge. Won't Get Fooled Again's "YEAHHHHH" scream is in the cultural mindset thanks to CSI: Miami. They were one of the earliest bands with concept albums like The Who Sells Out, Tommy and Quadrophonia. Townsend was a great songwriter. Keith Moon still inspires drummers to this day.

The Who is the band that is one of your favorite heavy band's favorite band.
Anonymous No.127386850
Their cultural impact declined because the 60s are 60 years old. The rolling stones are the only band I still hear in heavy rotation on the buttrock and mompop stations. Foreigner gets played more than the who lol

I know you kids love your Beatles but they're more rarely played than the who so they're pretty much shit too

Bass guitars literally have roundwound strings because of John Entwistle wanting more treble and power in The Who. He invented them with Rotosound. That’s probably the most influence on music that any rock band can ever claim to have.
