I don't need children. I'm too unhinged to trust myself with one. I already get pissed at my cats and pick them up and think about choking them to death before realizing I should probably not. If I had a kid I'd 100% end up killing it. It's better just to avoid the whole situation. Also don't worry I'm not going to kill my cats I love them, they're just little bastards that make me want to snatch them in two at times. Human babies aren't as resilient and aren't made for this life.

i only ever listened to 80s pop slop as a kid and now i feel a crushing alienation whenever i listen to stuff like paramore knowing that i was alive and sentient when they were at their peak but i missed out for a variety of stupid reasons

The music I like is so good everyone who hears it ends up listening to it too so I'm not worried. It's not just one genre, it's a whole bunch of stuff that I can explain the meaning of, so it's not just sensory pleasure it's also a cultural package.
I even enjoy radio pop shit, so I don't mind.

I was raised on my parents 80s post-punk taste. But i still liked the music i heard as a teenager in the late 10s. Music now really sucks though.

Same with me, although it's a bit different. I was of age to be listening to My Chemical Romance when they were at their most active, and I feel alienated when people my age talk about how much they love them. The thing is, I fucking hate their music and feel no joy listening to them. Strangely, I still kind of wish that I had listened to them in the 2000's anyway just so that I could be better socialized, but their music does absolutely nothing for me, and that entire era of music largely feels really tacky and pastiche to me now. That said, I'll lie and say I like them if asked without hesitation. I actually do like Panic! at the Disco though, but no one seems to think they're as good as My Chemical Romance. If shit like Jackie-O Motherfucker, Josephine Foster, and Fursaxa were considered cool to the same extent as My Chemical Romance then I'd be all set.

It's a badge of honor, a great achievement, to be out of touch with the current era, although knowing how bad it is is wise.
