I can't quite put it up there with the 80s albums because the radio rock stuff like Die Dead Enough drags it down for me, but its best songs are great, and it has Chris Poland and Vinnie Colaiuta. So a flawed but still really good album.

Call me whatever but i like the more "commercial" songs of megadeth. They dont hit as hard obviously when it comes to thrash but it has a catchy tune. Another song in the album, tears in a vial, one of my favorite ones, it has a unique melody imo.
Risk is not that bad either.

riiiiight because before "AI" every piece of art culture created was hand painted, high quality and completely unique.

You do realize that the entire metal genre is just "hey we invented a distortion pedal" right? With out that Slayer would just be Dick Dale and the Deltones.

For me, it's the overall versatility. I like Megadeth (Dave) because unlike other Big 80's Bands, he can actually write more than one type of song. I hate to bring up THAT band (which I actually like) but literally every album THAT band has made in the last 30 years has just been ReReLoad and ReReReLoad, over and over ad nauseum. Or worse, St. Anger and Lulu. Compared to those albums, things like Risk and SuperCollider are good. I like bands who can write more than variations on one song, which is rare in metal.

Tears In a Vial is really good for what it is, and Poland's solo shows that he absolutely could have delivered as lead guitarist through the 90s if he'd agreed to rejoin in 1989. I wish he had, as much as I like what Friedman did on Rust in Peace.

I know that the album is kind of a mess. Sudden death was ruined for the album, the when the guitar hero version is much stronger. Black swan 13th version removed the beautiful intro, but added bass in a specific middle part which i really liked, and other stuff. Megadeth's musicians were better than the band. Seriously, how did this guy gather so many talented musicians? They also fizzled out too quickly. Great run until Peace Sells, Symphony was their β€œblack album” since it is the album that for many marks the end of the classic era and the beginning of the commercial era. The big four of thrash were seriously overrated. Other thrash bands had better runs than them.

Dave Mustaine statement
>β€œThere's so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don't get to go out on their own terms on top, and that's where I'm at in my life right now. I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.
>We can't wait for you to hear this album and see us on tour. If there was ever a perfect time for us to put out a new album, it's now. If there was ever a perfect time to tour the world, it's now. This is also a perfect time for us to tell you that it's our last studio album. We've made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour. Don't be mad, don't be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We have done something together that's truly wonderful and will probably never happen again. We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it's played, and we changed the world. The bands I played in have influenced the world. I love you all for it. >Not releasing new albums is OK with me,I mean, most of the bands doesn't play new songs in their concerts because their fans doesn't want to hear the new songs
I think that's exactly why he's retiring the band. His voice is trashed after the injuries, surgeries, cancer, and just wear and tear, and the old songs are a terrible struggle for him live even with the guitars tuned way down. The newer songs are written to suit his current voice, but most fans just demand the old stuff live.
If he says fuck you and just plays whatever he wants, they won't be able to fill the venues they're playing and will have to scale everything down, and at some point it would no longer feel worth it to him. A band like Voivod are willing to accept playing to a couple of hundred people and doing whatever they want, but they were never commercially huge like Megadeth so never lost their artistic perspective.

Getting highly skilled fusion players in for a thrash band was such a great decision. As well as having a different feel to other bands at the time, it meant Mustaine wasn't limited by musicians' chops when he was writing. There's no way Lars could have played some of those songs if Mustaine had presented them to Metallica.

Sounds like shit on YouTube, but that's what shut ins get for not understanding that taking live audio, recording it on a garbage phone mic and compressing it over and over to be uploaded and fed through shitty speakers isn't going to sound all that great unless you're a pop star who engineers her shit for the terminally online shitters at the expense of her audience.

For me it’s Peace Sells and Killing is My Business I just wish Cumstaine hadn’t included cover songs on those albums.

It was a weird choice when he had so many songs ready or almost ready in 1984. We could have had superior Poland/Samuelson versions of Set the World Afire and Mary Jane (they actually played that one live several times) instead of the covers and Mechanix. And even Polaris if he'd remembered it earlier.

Those are not fans, those are faggots; real fans appreciatte the band's new song. See Iron Maiden in anywhere in a America BUT the United States, only in the states you see them complaining about not playing old songs more, the rest of the continent fucking loves Maiden

I wish I could agree but you can see live recording on yt and he doesn't; the cancer took its toll on his voice and he was never the best singer and quite grating when he had a voice. He needs a lot of Lomie's backing harmonies; it's true, his voice is shot and can't pull it off much and he sounds like he's struggling and hurting. I believe he can get a vocal trainer and classes to deal with that better but only for this last tour, not as a regular thing.

But his cancer gave him some fucking great low range ngl lmao

These Boots was such a ludo tune

>Take a country-pop tune
>Make it heavy metal
>Full throttle no stops into overdrive badassery
>Closure the track with a Black Magic woman shitpost as outro
Thanks Dave!
