ESP just makes copies. High quality copies, but copies. They will never be a Fender, Gibson, Gretsch that comes up with timeless designs.

Does anyone want to explain why this brand of guitar is better? To me, guitars are wood and metal strings, it would be hard to really fuck it up. Whats makes this guitar better than a gibson from guitar center? I don't play, just curious

I play and I don't know the difference either. some come in a single piece, which supposedly sounds better, and others have a bolt-on neck, and then there's the question of which pickups to use, which you can replace with whichever you want anyways. there's also the question of "tone wood" which sounds like bullshit to me on an electric. it's also funny to note that all the gear fetishists I've met aren't very good at playing guitar lol.

I learned that wood is a meme (except in acoustics), and that the tone is in the amp. And that amp sims are as good as analog. I learned this week that an old amp simulator was used in the SA2 soundtrack. Does build quality matter? Big deal. But you'll still have to mod for your needs.
