Don't Pass Me By and Octopus's Garden are literally 8/10 songs, unironically. Ringo never wrote any songs and when he did, he created two very good songs. Good vocals as well. He sang with passion.

We were told that a bunch of Laurel Canyon bands like The Byrds played everything on their albums. Then years later it's revealed that The Wrecking Crew did the recordings for dozens of famous bands.

It's surprising what people will take at face value.
