Gareth Liddiard another one with an amazing catalogue between The Drones, TFS, Springtime, his solo material... him and JKB two of my all time fav artists for sure

It is a shame, streetcleaner is just what I've been listening to the most recently, my favourite is probably Pure or Post-Self or Ice's under the skin or or or...

>Gareth Liddiard another one with an amazing catalogue between The Drones, TFS, Springtime, his solo material.

I've hardly listened to his stuff since he formed TFS till now so it's been a great rediscovery. Been putting off listening to Springtime cos that lineup is so stacked, waiting for a special time. I used to work near where gala mill was recorded, went to the gala vineyard for lunch with my boss. Funny thinking of the mild mannered pretensions of upper middle class vineyard owners in conjunction with the boiling sorrow and rage of Liddiard's music in retrospect.

oh I remember sounds like you need to listen to Selected Ambient Works 85-92 and Incunabula more too cus they are essential classics when it comes to electronic and ambient techno as far as I'm concerned and I am highly outraged

SAW 85-92 is probably my favorite Aphex Twin, Incunabule is a contender for fav Autechre kind of hard to choose between that and Tri Repetae for me, and Tomorrow's Harvest is a contender for fav Boards I guess... I really like Twoism a lot as well... but yeah Tomorrow's Harvest feels particularly cinematic and moodier and darker than other Boards and I'm here for it... to me it's even post-apocalyptic I know some agree and others disagree or wanna quibble

but anyways I don't know when it comes to artists I love and value as much as these, I tend to stay away from "favorite" "best" "worst" talk

it's much warmer and airier than something like Us and Them but does have some really nice drum n bass tracks "Today" and the title track

Severe torture seems pretty good, ill have to check them out. I'm not really familiar with a lot death metal after the 2000s except for a few deathcore groups and the recent wave of death metal/slam out of the Hudson Valley. I dont really like what happened with the way they produce extreme metal.
If you havent heard Mephitic Corpse Id check out their latest release. production sounds like complete dogshit but that makes it so much better. Reborn in Evil by asphyxiated is also a pretty good release from the past few years.
>>127428222
Good set of recs, sunrise patriot motion reminds me of someone else but I cant put my finger on it. 2famous sounds absolutely ridiculous. Feburary is good too, where I'm at our locals are super saturated with screamo right now so I've been a little jaded keeping up with it but its good to hear something thats not total fucking garbage
Anonymous No.127431433
I'm not that deep into music and its many avenues, but I want to try to do one of these cause I just listen to a lot of bs. Doom metal, post-rock, "rock" and "folk" I guess, I wouldn't dare to claim the actual genre of most of these albums outside of the Doom stuff. Currently delving deeper into Dungeon Synth. Also, the albums themselves represent more the artist than the specific album...
This is how it's going so far.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
