It is, until you realize the 'Up' in Surf's Up is like the 'up' in 'the jig is up', i.e. it's over. As in: no more beach-and-surf songs, time for more serious stuff.
A Day in the Life of a Tree is one of the most depressing songs I've heard and feels as equally of a representation of Brian Wilson's mindset and view of himself as I Wasn't Made for These Times.
I know it's supposed to be an environmental song, but a big part of me really feels this is how Brian felt about himself back then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBAhT-_dLes

Wild Honey is good as well. Also Adult/Child is a nice bootleg. Calendar Girl and Hey Little Tomboy are really good songs to mention some
RIP in peace Brian, didn't die on christmas day as predicted though

Picrel shows that they could have even pulled off a double album if they wanted. Big sur could have easily replaced students demonstration and sequencing (Wouldn't it be nice to) Live Again right after till I die would have been perfect

I agree. It sounds like Brian's suicide note basically but yeah apparently Brian didn't write the lyrics. Its crazy how close it is to how he must have felt

No it's not. It's better than Sunflower. >>127404516
Surf's Up is great, but Pet Sounds is in another league. Saying otherwise is either just personal preference or zoomer brainrot.

You know DAMN-well that Fast Freddy & The Crooners released Time to Go With The Tide an entire YEAR before Brian and his Beach Bums copied them

it's a painting based on James Earle Fraser's sculpture End of the Trail.
the manager or someone found the painting in a 2nd-hand store in LA
no one knows who painted it but it's def a paiting of the sculpture

I really don't get why people hate it. Like I can understand people not liking MIU or Keepin the Summer Alive but BB85 is just a solid 80s late-career record, better than some of the shit other 60s/70s artists were shoveling out at this time.
