How does music reviewing even work? I understand reviewing books, films, games etc but music, it either sounds good or it doesn't, that's it

Why is Fagtano the only relevant music critic?

music is a very passive activitly and 99% of people don't care for and intellectual discussion of it so there isn't much room for people to occupy the reviewing space. Fantano was one of the first ones and he uses a lot of internet humor so he outlasted everyone else.

only a multi instrumentalist can tell you whats happening in each song in detail, and only a vocalist or those who grew with them can tell you about being a vocalist, hitting notes, sustaining them, etc.

Fantano aint it. That old guy with the guitar that reivews music is much better and detects notes as they come and he can mimic them in his guitar thats how you know he is a good music reviewer but Fantano aint, Fantano is a poser he has always been. Bassist and even more mediocre than i am and i am not bragging i never do.

there is chords and riffs in kpop the worst offender is by far Rap it produces nothing of its own, steals samples and just uses an online Rhyme Dictionary like RyhmeZone. Its the laziest lowest IQ shit "music" in human existence.

the idea is that if you care about a specific person who has written a review, say maybe it's a friend or coworker or family member, maybe you'll care about a review that they have written if they have written one, or even just left a rating

I don't get how he can actually know all the music. That's the impression I get from his videos/shorts; he's pretty much heard every album ever made of any relevance in any genre that isn't classical, and has not only listened to them once, but multiple times, made an opinion on every album ever made, and can recall his opinions on every album as soon as someone brings that album up... all this while listening to every album that is currently being made/released, constantly updating his knowledge so he can say he's heard every album ever made up to the present day.

He's either a complete fraud or he's rainman.
