Is there a current popular artist that has actual decent live instrumentation and loudly projected vocals?

well duh, English artists and bands are obviously going to be superior to north American ones

no. that would be problematic because its unfair to exclude those who can't play instruments from being successful musicians. people who can't sing can be enabled by autotune so thats fine, but expecting people to actually be able to play guitar or bass or drums is SO ableist.

>Justin Bieber
>Kanye West
>Drake
None of these artists are even remotely relevant in 2025. Kanye is a nazi, Drake is a pedophile, and Justin Bieber is retired.

Lots of old music is shit. Lots of new music is good. Lot's of old music is also still good. Lots of new music is also shit. Both good and new music is timeless. Stop binding yourself to different eras and some arbitrary generational cut off point. Give zoomer music a chance.

Agree, and it was by design. GenX lapped up the boomer brainwashing like happy dogs. It's rare to find a GenXer who knows more about their local scene than boybands from 70s years ago.

Take: Queen was overrated as fuck with like 3 really good songs and the rest being forgettable garbage and if they were a band that formed recently NOBODY would give a shit about them.

While this is true, even with all of the tools and streaming services out there, it seems harder than ever to find good new shit. For example there's TONS of great new rock that gets released every year, but the only way I feel like I'm able to find it is by digging through the depths of the rym chart hell. Rock radios are completely stuck in the past playing old shit even on the supposed new rock radios so that's a no go. The only way you're hearing new shit is by listening to like NTS or something like that but their mostly stuck playing more hipster rock overall. Streaming services are dogshit as well for the most part, I almost never find out about a new band I like through them.

Yeah. Pop sells you an asthetic, not music. It has you worshiping another man like a faggot instead of the music that comes out.

they don't get promotional pushes from Warner or whatever is why. without that big label push you're not gonna hear them.

This would only make sense if he grew up listen to r&b and pop for preteen and teen girls. Why are people like this? If you weren't interested in that shit back in the day why should you be interested in it now? Fucking boomers cry over everything

Depends on when in the 90's. Granted, most of rock was slop too, but I think the Billboard charts can be misleading. There was more variety in the mainstream music industry.

Did all four of the OP bands release albums in 1974? Is thatbwhy this is supposed to be relevant?
