it's always dry for me, I just like the rawer edge and find the songs catchier (though I admit "down by the water" is one of her best ever songs, wish that whole album sounded like that)

Don't sweat it. Harvey's like St Vincent. She has some talent and weird girl mystique, but none of the music she's made has ever been all that interesting.
Her first collab with John Parish might be my all time favorite album, can't think of anything else remotely like it.
Her last album and ITD? are my favorites of her solo work. She's got a handful of perfect albums. I love all of em except Hope Six and UHH I don't really revisit apart from a few songs.

Uh huh her is better than the recent albums besides let England shake imo. At least uh huh has that brash old pj quality. Saw her live and she ended with horses and bring me my love which gave me chills

Rid of Me. It's a work of mad genius. I love the odd song structures and near-psychotic lyricism. Albini's production elevates the songs to greatness--I've rarely heard a quiet-loud dynamic used so effectively.
