Radiohead was my absolute favorite band in the world from about 2004-2009. But by now it has long become apparent that Amnesiac is their only album still worth listening to. Half of Kid A is good but it’s got some real garbage on it as well. All of their 90s work (yes, Bends too) has aged poorly and everything from In Rainbows on was never good.

Overrating In Rainbows has been the cool thing to do for online losers who still watch theneedledrop and call Anthony Fantano “melon”. That album is trash and is the point of no return for me. The one thing they needed to do as soon as Hail to the Thief was finished was to move on from Nigel Godrich. They had milked his whoosh gimmick to death and they recognized it too, which is why they started recording In Rainbows with Spike Stent instead. Except as soon as the going got tough, they bitched out and crawled right back to Nigel’s teat where they’ve remained ever since, repeating all the same mistakes they made on HTTT.

I think they'd likely be worse under the Radiohead name. Like most artists, the well of creativity isn't bottomless. Let's not forget that Ed's the THIRD guitarist (nothing against him but it's for a reason), the bassist is ok but replaceable and the had to get that portishead drummer in to augment Phil.
