Most certainly not, although, I'd only actually buy one if music was my job. Modelling is enough for most people just pissing around.

Not really. They have their lovers and for good reason, but most people will at least give the alternatives fair credit.

idk about that particular amp but tubes are expensive and tube amps need hefty transformers which are also expensive, BOMs are going to be way higher than transistor amps

Not, not over-rated, but nobody talks about upkeep. You have to drop a couple hunny into them every couple years for new tubes.

Only blues players and '80s glam rock guys need a tube amp.

Overrated? No. Do you absolutely need one? No.
They're better as a base to build on though. Almost every other amp these days is packed with 100 effects and features, while a tube amp keeps it simple and lets you build your rig piece by piece. Stuff is more fun this way, I think. There used to be more pedal platform solid state amps, but everyone seems to push modeling now.

No but if you’re going to get one then buy once and cry once and get something decent. I have a MIG 50 and have been very happy with it, but you could get a combo a bit cheaper that has more features and effects built in. Personally I wanted something loud and bare bones for a good pedal platform.
