why has /mu/ always resisted the lure of this epic medievalist 1970s hard/folk classic (with touches of boogie)?

Never cared for what I've heard of them on this particular album but I heard Pilgrim recently and thst shit is like proto post-rock kind of stuff. Really ahead of its time with how slow and minimalist for the early 70s.

it's a pretty coherent album of pastoral Tolkien merry old England wank as expressed through the musical trends of the early 1970s, pretty much a unique listening experience

Of course it’s for dorks. All prog-adjacent music is for dorks. 4chan is for dorks.

There's The Rub [MCA, 1975]
The great English blues-cum-heavy band of which it has been said: "When they get up onstage and wield their guitars, it is as if they are brandishing swords" until they start digging in and you realize it's more like shovels. D+

it's an alright album, not exactly on par with the first three. Lady Jay is a classic medievalist Ash ballad like Leaf and Stream, Sorrel and Valediction, something they did best

/mu/-tards will see the cover and say it's pretentious prog because they've seen it coupled with all the progressive classics.
