Why don't governments learn?
Because governemnts NEVER learn.
Only PEOPLE learn.
His records don't sell. No one's record sells.
His tshirts don't sell, his posters don't sell, the magazines that once interviewed don't sell. It's gone. You wanted that. Now you got it so look who's crying now.
So now artist want government grants and subsidies.
Because no body is paying.
The president is just a face. He either ratifies, vetos, or executive orders.
Lots of "influence" but little power, because he doesn't write the appropriations bills. Congress and fed do that.
The government doesn't have any money. Only PEOPLE make money.
The government only gets money by putting it's hand in your pocket and taking money out of it.
That's why artists lean "liberal" so they can keep asking for grants, and the politicians stay elected. It's a way of buying votes.
Why should a musician who nobody wants to hear, have congress raise taxes so he can make music. Think REAL hard about that.
If an artist behaves badly or falls out of trend, he will lose money & go out of business.
If a government program behaves badly, it it won't go away but will continue to seek revenue, but not generate it.
Liberals aren't liberal like 150 years ago.
Liberal means "of and pertaining to freedom"
But these liberals are only liberal with other peoples money.
So now artist can't sell records & don't know what to do.
If you want to support your musicians,
YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM OR THEY WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS.
There is no magic money, in order for the government to do "good" things with money, they must first forceably take your money away from you.
Real artist don't get a red cent unless you voluntarily give it to them out your pocket.
Jack White's most recent album, No Name sold 7,000 copies in its debut week with nearly 4,500 on vinyl.
Add it up & stop pretending.
Nirvana is not for this world. There is no utopian paradise. You're not getting out of this world that easy.
