Who cares about the concerts? They were one of many aspects of things that were better. You've never even met a real woman. Women died when we gave them all ways to record themselves and share it. You're lucky enough to have been born late enough to not even really know how it never began for you.

It's kind of like the opposite of Blade Runner. There are people in that world who are old enough to remember what it was like before the computer virus wiped out the internet and they had to go back to hardwired mainframes instead of everything being in the cloud.

The apocalypse happened and we popped out into a dystopia, just in the other way around, and we're all living in it. Except you were born after the before-times when people didn't have cameras on their phones and social media.

But concerts still sucked shit then and they suck shit now. Makes little difference if all the clowns attending them have their phones up in the air trying to record everything or not. But sure. It really means concerts suck shit slightly more now. But they always sucked shit regardless. Performing live and paying to watch inferior renditions is just narcissism. Music is personal or at least more intimate and special to me than the whole sloppified corporate cirkle jerk of concerts and so called "festivals". Yes. So called "indie" shit is corporate circle jerking pretending its not too.
Note that there is a difference between the modern phenomena of concerts in popular music and e.g. bards playing in taverns or music during dinner or holiday celebrations in a village or something like that historically. The latter is just organic human expressions. The former is capitalist, industrial and post-industrial society slop for broken, dysfunctional and dysgenic consumer zombies.

This. People are naturally self-absorbent in their own experiences and tend to make it all about themselves. It's nothing new, people just found an easier way.

It's so weird to see the walking jokes of the past get misremembered as "the best ever". This entire board is essentially dedicated to past eras' "poseur music". (Grunge being the ultimate example.)

>Dancing
>At a concert
If I am at a concert, I want to listen to the actual music. You can do this at a party, what is "generational" about this? That concerts are now a bunch of retards attempting to capture the moment as opposed to committing assault on one another? I think both are pretty retarded and not how a concert ought to be.

But my ideal concert experience would be in a quiet concert hall, sitting down, eyes closed and intently listening to the actual music rather than have the music be background noise to hedonistic nonsense, so what do I know.

I don't get overstimulated by crowds, I just think that if you want to be around a crowd, there are better places to do so. It's quite retarded to pay to listen to music and then not listen to music.

still very high autism levels
you dont go just for the music, you go to see the artist/s, hear the music live and potentially in some different form to the studio recordings, and for the shared social experience with friends

Being in front of bands with a quiet sound stage is such a shitty and boring experience. Better to just buy tickets wherever the sound guys booth is. It's all about sucking off the sound guys now instead of the artist and the audience.

So you don't go for the music, but for the music? Are you retarded?
>you go to see the artist/s
Okay, a classical concert will do that just fine? I still have eyes, I can see everyone who is performing in the venue
>, and for the shared social experience with friends
What a retarded metric, extremely shallow friendships you must have if a rock concert is a meaningful social experience to you. You could use the money to do any number of much more meaningful things. You also seem to project your autism onto others, implying you have a massive inferiority complex. I doubt you have many friends to begin with, if any

I know this is 4chan and we're all supposed to be basement autists but I never get all the hate this board has for live music. Going to shows is one of my favorite things. Going to see LCD Soundsystem tonight and I'm hyped.

>you dont JUST go for the music
as in, there are other things you go for as well as the music, which you can still hear while you engage in other aspects of the experience. but theres no way that youre this stupid and I can tell from the rest of your post that youre not engaging in the conversation in good faith and intentionally taking the part of a uncompromising social outcast. admittedly there is an outside chance, this being 4chan, that you really are this dysfunctional. either way, it means that what you post has no credibility and nothing to offer anyone but yourself.

>as in, there are other things you go for as well as the music, which you can still hear while you engage in other aspects of the experience.
And what you listed is either present in a classical concert and/or completely retarded and shouldn't even be art of a concert to begin with

Rest is an overly verbose concession that you don't have much else to argue against

Boomer/Beatles etc dickriding. When I was in school in the 90s we had a boomer music teacher who kept trying to get us to sing Beatles or Byrds or other 60s tunes that just seemed hopelessly corny when I wanted to go home and play AIC or Pantera licks on my guitar.
