It's kind of like the opposite of Blade Runner. There are people in that world who are old enough to remember what it was like before the computer virus wiped out the internet and they had to go back to hardwired mainframes instead of everything being in the cloud.

The apocalypse happened and we popped out into a dystopia, just in the other way around, and we're all living in it. Except you were born after the before-times when people didn't have cameras on their phones and social media.

But concerts still sucked shit then and they suck shit now. Makes little difference if all the clowns attending them have their phones up in the air trying to record everything or not. But sure. It really means concerts suck shit slightly more now. But they always sucked shit regardless. Performing live and paying to watch inferior renditions is just narcissism. Music is personal or at least more intimate and special to me than the whole sloppified corporate cirkle jerk of concerts and so called "festivals". Yes. So called "indie" shit is corporate circle jerking pretending its not too.
Note that there is a difference between the modern phenomena of concerts in popular music and e.g. bards playing in taverns or music during dinner or holiday celebrations in a village or something like that historically. The latter is just organic human expressions. The former is capitalist, industrial and post-industrial society slop for broken, dysfunctional and dysgenic consumer zombies.

If I am at a concert, I want to listen to the actual music. You can do this at a party, what is "generational" about this?
