I was in the peak of my teenage black metal phase when this released and loved this shit. I understood it wasn't trying to be "metal" or "kvlt". The Pecan Tree is one of the most beautiful songs ever created regardless of genre

It's a great album. Its soundwaves tickle my brain in an enjoyable way. That's all there is to it. If there are any other reasons for why you dislike a piece of music, like e.g. social ones, then you're an insecure faggot.

It's black metal for My Bloody Valentine fans. Basically one of the better shoegaze albums of the past decade and a half next to MBV. DIIV toured with them in 2018 when I witnessed the live show, Frog In Boiling Water is another good reference. Your just expecting overtly satanic or "spooky" aesthetic when you couldn't understand how a band like Pelican is metal. Pelican is heavy af but you'd have to appreciate the art of technicality and the mentality that Robert Fripp would have towards an instrument. Without a similar mindset, it would be lost upon you. Go listen to Sleep Token or Black Veil Brides faggot

Look, I was a teen, Megadeth sounded like a good band to my ears at the time. I'll admit, it is a guilty pleasure now because Marty Friedman can shred, he is so good that I drool and vibrate hard whenever he solos but I wouldn't listen to it if I never listened to it when I was in high school

They're okay. I liked New Bermuda and their last one quite a bit. Infinite Granite's fine for straight shoegaze.
