Metalcore never really took off and was only sort of big in the latter part of the 2000s and it was seen as part of the Nu-Metal sort of movement, plus it was seen as Alt-Metal adjacent.

Deathcore is much more popular, by the way.

This group describes themselves as metalcore, but they are verging on deathcore with some of their songs and vocals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoxJNrBtsHo

Band from 1990s, they are Russian and Ukrainian (depending on members) and there is one permanent member: Ruslan Pavlyuk. They sing in Russian.

The topic is somewhat touchy, but this was Ukraine's attempt at removing pro-Russian separatists from the region and imprisoning them all under the clause of terrorism. Russia was blamed for aiding, but I have my doubts as our hands were full fighting the Chechens.

what music do Russian girls like when foreigners listen to
Anonymous No.127504529
>>127503174
Are you talking about foreign music that Russian girls like? Depends on the age.

Boomer and Gen X? ABBA, plus a bit of disco such as Ottawan and Boney M, not so much Sister Sledge, which is more popular in America, if my memory serves me right.

Gen Y? Ace of Base, Vengaboys, Spice Girls, pretty much any party/club favourite of the time (Rhythm of the Night, I like to Move it, etc.)

Zoomer? Pop, house and dance, some folk pop too. This week the top foreign song is by Alexander Warren, last week was Calvin Harris, before that was Taylor Smith.

Rock is less common, but Pierce the Veil has been getting lots of airplay.

Country is more American than anything and as a result is not popular. Russia borrows more from Frnech Chanson anyway, though Russian Chanson is very different.

Less so country culture and more so prison culture, not in the edgy gangster rap sort of way, though. It fills the same niche as country did, but the captive audience is much like old country's captive audience, almost entirely over 50s.

While this may be true in Russia, it's not true in music. Some of my favourite albums are parody albums that, in my opinion, do a better job than the genres that they parody, picrel. And there are many other examples, including in country (just as a quick and obvious example, I'm sure you've heard of the Ween country album, which I think is their best album - but the list goes on for a long time in many genres).
