I don't care for Deftones. If they have a release that RYMtards rate highly, I will check it out, but everything I've heard from this band so far I've disliked very much.

I have listened to half of the album and so far absolutely nothing has stood out.

I take it that Pitchfork is one of those websites that predominantly gives out scores in the higher end of the 1-10 scale. For example, imagine you have a review website that uses a 1-10 rating scale, but almost all reviewed albums are given scores in the range 8-10. If then suddenly an album gets a 7, then it's probably safe to assume, that the author thinks it's trash relatively speaking.

>their best album in a decade
>same score as Ohms
>0.2 less than fucking Gore

Pitchfork don't know ball. The Gore review was particularly egregious cause Ian Cohen said it was their best since White Pony

Pitchfork ratings are 100% political and decided by editorial committee. They don't mean anything other than how the artists align with the site's image and the audience it's trying to cultivate. A 7.X to a popular artist's album means "we don't think this really fits with our aesthetic, but we don't want to alienate their fans." That's it.

Haha, yes! It's over.

I have never even seen this album before now, I just think this is funny.

It used to be the other way around two decades ago. They gave nothing but low scores to most reviewed albums.

Need that beaner Moreno to drop one last good screamer album a la Adrenaline or Fur, then hopefully lose his voice permanently to prevent any further legacy damage and more egirl slop being made. Saw that nigga hit the ozempic big time too.
