Also fucking Pet Sounds, Rubber Soul and Velvet Underground & Nico are some of the most frequently discussed "classic rock" albums of the past 50 years, before internet even existed. It's not /mu/core, it's just boomer normiecore.

This /mu/ no longer exists. The only albums that get posted here semi-regularly now are always schizo posts that are meant to bait the readers. Beyond that, /mu/core is now whatever the latest female pop album is, and even then, the discussion is entirely made up of angry middle aged Nazis. This is the board where /pol/ goes when they want to say something about music. That's it.

I don't think it's a great list. For the genres it represents, only shoegaze and post rock are represented with arguably their "best" albums (in terms of consensus). Post rock is in my view a dead genre that is completely anachronistic outside of the late 90s and early 00s, so the GYBE album is rightly regarded as not holding up. It's not clear to me that Radiohead fans regard Kid A as their best (not that their opinion of music matters), and Kanye, American Football, King Crimson, Talking Heads, Burial, and Death Grips are likely regarded (again, rightly so) as dead memes to this board. For my tastes, the best of prog, punk, emo, indie, electronic music, and rap are not represented by any of these albums. It's just a dead meme in general.

it was just whatever album was constantly posted on this board during the time of the infographs making
A modern version cannot exist since this board doesn't talk about anything for longer than 20 posts. Look at the fucking catalog with all the threads trying to talk about an album with only 2-4 replies. This place is dead and so are these lists.

As a fan, I will say that they've gotten back on their game to some extent within the past five years, although I had given up all hope on that ever happening a few years later. It's good that they're making solid music again, but it seems like too little too late for most people. They were so off for the entire 2010's it effectively reversed the power and creative momentum that they had built up to in the 2000's and rewrote themselves as a band that can't make a good album in most peoples minds. Probably due to that, their record label doesn't even bother to do their job and promote their music anymore. Isn't It Now had no promotion whatsoever and it was their best album in well over ten years. They should have had more drive in the 2010's, but they thought it was okay to just stop caring and going four years in between albums only to have the album totally not worth the wait. It really did them in. Anyway, someone who hates them is probably going to correct me and say that Painting With is their true masterpiece now, but that's /mu/.
