My mom was a goth in the 80s and 90s. She gave it up after she met my dad. I still can't believe my mom had a goth phase when I see the photos. I think most goth girls eventually give it up after get with a normal guy.

Why are chicks into goth? Cuz gothic is a dark offshoot of Romanticism (19th century art movement). Think of Dracula. The romantic love genre is the heart of Romanticism carried into popular culture. Goth bands actually write a lot of love songs but they might be about doomed lovers or something. Zoomer goth chicks listen to Twin Tribes.

I only mention this btw not to recommend his music, but it's amazing, this guy might be the most successful gothic musician of the past 20 years. It's the German goth chicks. It's all romance. But what's funny about Blutengel is that his songs are written in the most literal direct manner possible because he's German so his songs in English are beyond cringe.
