Thoughts on Unwound?
Anonymous No.127521825 >>127521840 >>127521876 >>127530773
Hard to form an unbiased opinion of them because every aging millennial treats them with a reverence that is beyond gay. They're very overrated in their niche but not bad.

Love 'em
Leaves is a very weird album, Fake Train and Repetition had songs that immediately made them click for me, but the first times i listened to Leaves i could only grasp some really good moments amongst an anxious blur, in a good way, which made me keep coming back until it became my favorite

Very very good. Saw them live recently for my birthday they did repetition in full. Drummer is underrated very creative unique playing

Minor threat is better than fugazi ever will be on a purely musical basis. If you want post hardcore then listen to nation of Ulysses or husker du instead. Fugazi sound like a game of hardcore marco polo. One minute ian is way up here then the next it is way down here. They're mid.

fugazi’s style gave birth to helmet’s style and therefore all nu metal, post-grunge and groove metal wouldn’t exist without them. They undoubtedly influenced nirvana too so they are probably the most influential band of the 90s and early 2000s

You're right, I wasn't there. Does being there make a record or band good? If you had to be there then couldn't it be said that the material isn't good enough to stand on its own? Maybe i'm hating, maybe I don't get it, maybe its genius hasn't hit me and been fully realized by me, but from what I have heard I would much rather listen to minor threat or bad brains than fugazi. I would much rather listen to husker du, refused, or glass jaw, other "post hardcore" bands. They (fugazi) may have laid the foundation for later post hardcore bands but I tried giving them a listen and wasn't blown away by what I heard.

They weren't anything special, they weren't bad but I heard a few songs and liked them. I wouldn't consider them as legendary as led zeppelin or pink floyd but punk. They were okay.
