Derogatory term used by people who see the past differently, but not incorrectly. Used to describe commercial, but blatantly imitative post grunge that got air play and became popular with people who did not see through the ploy and were not true to the core values of the scene.

On the other hand, eddie vedder deliberately refused to go mainstream. That he stuck to his principles may be the cause of such contrast.
