What good is "better" "songs", when the riffs and energy lessen with every release. Kill em All is one of the best metal albums that exists, and with every release following, they fell further off the pace. Honestly, Metallica's "evolution", in particular Master of Puppets, did nothing to improve metal at all, besides spawning countless worthless mid-tempo "bay area style" chugshit imitations and open the door to the normiefags (same goes for Anthrax), that would consume and deplete the thrash metal genre and see it destroyed by grungers and Grooveshitters within 5 years. I mean they still were good albums and I like Anthrax too, but if it weren't for the proper bands that either stayed trad or pushed the style to extremes, metal would have been destroyed at the hands of Metallica selling out. NWOBHM was the commercial revival of heavy metal that appeared in the UK at the turn of the 80s. At the same time appeared a more extreme genre of trad heavy metal that's called speed metal because it's more aggressive (and that's where the 1st wave of black metal appeared). Thrash metal was the evolution of speed metal and it was influenced by a lot of things from punk to metal, it's its own thing. Likewise black metal as we know it (2nd wave and beyond) was influenced by a lot of things, it's a thing in itself.
You have to stay woke and look at things how they are in the material world and not worry about theories like this. But it's a good thing you're trying to link ideas between each other because it shows you have a critical mind.
