Zoomers ruined shoegaze. Went to see Whirr and Nothing last night and predictably it was a very young crowd. Most completely obsessed with holding their phone up recording the entire set blocking the view of the people behind them.

Maybe it's just lack of concert etiquette in general since covid, but shoegaze attracts the most undesirable people imaginable now. I waited 15 years to see Whirr live and these zoomer faggots ruined it. Never going to a concert again.

Shoegaze started to get more popular within my circle in mid-2010's. It's at that time I often came across this word. Mostly because it was quite popular in Japan. It's no suprise the genre's popularity is nothing but exponential. Especially with the help of the extreme virality of tiktok (where most of newfans comes from).
