Ok so this bored is actually dead today. what happened? is it the zoomers? who do I blame for this? my Irish Folk Music Thread got ZERO responses. Last time I was on this board was like 6 years ago and I made the same thread and it got hundreds of responses. NOBODY here listens to folk music today. NOBODY here has good taste in music today. genuinely what happened?

Im a rare visitor here too, because trying to draw people on /mu/ into actual music discussion of anything outside the top 40 is practically impossible now. if youre into a niche genre, forget it. not going to happen.
even in topsters/tapmusic threads, where you would think the few remaining people either wanting to talk music of looking for new stuff might congregate, trying to get people to actually talk is like drawing blood from a stone.
it was bad enough already but its got markedly worse in the past year or so. the place is fucking cooked m8.

you used to be able to make a thread on mu about pretty much any kind of music and find people who were either into it too or interested to find out about it. the only exception to that was commercial popslop. that was because /mu/ used to be a functioning venue for music discussion despite its many faults.

I'm spitballing ideas here but it might just be that people moved on with their lives and tourists just driving the quality further and further to shit. Blaming zoomers feels like a scapegoat to me. Sure some of it can be blamed but, again, it's probably tourists and lower numbers outside of KPOP threads of all things. It sucks because there isn't any place to discuss music without running into pretentious posers, drones of youtubers opinions and normies that haven't heard of Anthony Braxton in their life. Really no hope in finding a replacement or reviving this place, we are too far gone to do anything.
