I remember being sheltered 16 year old listening to this album the first time.
I looked at the lyrics book first. Saw Not Now John and just from the "desert" vibe I got from PF at the time, with Wish You Were Here especially, and having listened to it on trips to western United States, I expected it to be this sort of lowly strumming guitar song like a bunch of sad old cowboys sitting on dusty front porches.
Instead I got rollicking rock n roll, with the ending sounding like a fascist rally, biting cynical lyrics (to me as a teenager it was at least). I must have listened to that song 10 times in a row. I was addicted to it. For years it was my favorite Pink Floyd song alongside Wish You Were Here. Now? I still like it desu.

Wish this cover had been around in 2010 when I was obsessed with the song.
