No band ever summed up a decade better than they did. Not even the moptops. Well ok maybe The Beatles did it better.

One of the bands I thought I hated when I was younger but then I turned 25 and something switched in my brain and all those soft rock bands and artists now sound amazing.

Greatest Hits Volume 2 [Asylum, 1982]
I admit it--this made my A shelves after the Bellamy Brothers softened me up. But that was unjust to the Bellamy Brothers. The Eagles are slimy not smarmy, pulchritudinous not purty, multiplatinum titans not singles artists, pretentious cynics not small-time con men, Topanga Canyon not San Fernando Valley. Sure their tunesmanship, zeitgeistheit, and guitar goodies were fun on the radio. But the next time I weeded my shelves, they were tracked to the reference collection. B-

>On November 19, 1980, LAPD officers investigating reports of a teenage runaway went to Henley's house. Inside they found the missing 15 year old girl. A different 16 year old lay passed out naked on the living room floor. Henley was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He pled guilty and paid a fine.[3]

So basically, whenever a teenage girl went missing the first place the cops knew to check was Henley's house? LOL.
