I don't hate them or anything but they're definitely not my kind of music. I can't really put my finger on why. I get zero excitement from listening to them. The songs just never hit at any point and it all just sounds like background noise. I think I just hate Axl's voice.

Appetite is a great rock album, and only "generic" because its popular, successful, and everywhere. Only if you can't stand 80's glam or hard rock at large is it shitty.

I just don't know why anyone would think that Whitesnake or Faster Pussycat are an affront to good taste but pick this up instead of any discs from the thriving heavy metal scene. Was 1987 a lull year? Are Death and Bathory and Helloween and King Diamond just too scary for the average teenager who was disappointed that Def Leppard didn't make Pyromania Part 2?
