Dave Rowntree is a literal and unabashed Blairite, their entire motto is saying "Better things aren't possible, actually!" while sagely wagging a finger at you

Brett Anderson comes off so much better than his contemporaries in this interview, and ironically given how much he emphasises he's not, comes off a lot more youthful in spirit, I wish only the best for Suede

There's a reason why "music is just as good as it's ever been" posters never give examples.

I agree that music sucks now, but even if a 10/10 masterpiece came out today youd all still find an excuse to hate it.

He's right. The only reason why people ever feel like music was better years ago is because we have had years to sift through the music that was being made and discover the music we believe is good. If you look at music as a whole at any given present time, you're always going to find good stuff and bad stuff.

well, friend, at any time from the 50s-90s you could always find interesting music, even the bad stuff was usually interesting in some way which is less so the case since 2010

>People are always surprised when I tell them the best music that’s ever been made is being made right now. People always think music was better in the old days, to which I say: “Bollocks!” That’s simply part of the ageing process. I was lucky enough to host a radio show a few years ago for XFM and I was blown away by the music people are making now.
