This thread reminds me what was up with Morning Phase? It was hyped up as Sea Change 2 and his big comeback but it was very mid. Maybe his second or third worst album. It won AOTY at the Grammy's but any old shit can win that.

Some one did once recommend one his albums. Nice. Nothing wrong with winning a Grammy or two I guess. Something to shoot for. There are other interesting acts and duos that went unheard. But Op did an ok job defending. Think he just wants new beck music

For me it's 2005-2006 Beck; Guero and The Information
I'm gonna talk about the easy breeze of the latter, combined with a make-yr-own-art cover + DVD, every video looked like it was a blast to make. The scope of The Information was vast and loose, Nigel on the boards. Every song has a connection to the whole make up of it, the bassline of "Cellphone's Dead" shows up in the last track suite. There's digital glitches popping up all over like Christmas colored lights, an air of free and easy feeling that wasn't there on the drama soaked Sea Change. "Strange Apparition" is one of the best pop songs he has ever wrote, criminally overlooked for it's purity. There's dada rap Beck "Cellphone's Dead" that takes "Hell Yes" as a serious affair. The bass in this record is MVP. And beneath all of it, there feels like there is a hidden message lurking in The Information. Imvho, his most conversely experimental leftfield album that plays into what his fans love about him, and yet you can build a case for a few of his other records, sure, but there's a strange allure happening in The Information.

At the time I only knew him as the singer from Futurama so wasn't expecting this weird song with puppets and quirky white boy dancing. Most of his new shit isn't interesting, and I guess the torch has been passed to younger artists. The problem is that whole "alt rock" vibe like Beck and Flaming lips has just turned into shit like Twenty One Pilots, Oliver Tree, and Yungblud
