Honestly her 1st album was big in Europe but not so elsewhere aside from new rules. She was also mocked by her dance routines. Her 2nd album was big but in an odd way its popularity was uplifted by covid. Her third album not doing as well as FN defo damaged her brand, probably pissed her off too since she took many of the creative and sound directions of radical optimism. She was also partially financed with USAID money (search online, though it's a times of India article so take it from where it comes). She also never managed to get a rabid fanbase. She appears a bit aloof and her lyrics are largely generic. Most of her small fan base mocks and jokes she's perpetually holidaying. She is a bit lazy I guess and doesn't takes her music career very seriously, probably because she has other jobs...

Radical Optimism is a great album and I will die on this hill. The extended versions of the songs especially are fantastic. It didn’t even flop commercially, she has just set incredibly high standards that this album didn’t meet. One of the reasons is that she didn’t promote it very enthusiastically.
