In practice maybe because the biggest limiting factor with bicycle efficiency is aerodynamic drag which goes up exponentially with your speed as per the inverse square law, but on paper a bicycle should have higher pedaling efficiency because of its more ideal position. The fastest land speed record was set by an upright bicycle at 183 miles per hour, which is faster than the fastest speed on a velo at 90 mph

As said last thread, there is no benefit to the environment if you ride a cuckbike and you are only fucking yourself with slower, more cumbersome transportation. A car will do you better in every way. Just spend some time at the gym if you really care about the exercise.

It's objectively more cumbersome. A car allows you to get somewhere without exerting physical energy on it, if you go to work that requires manual labor of any kind, that is preferable, as you are saving your energy for your work rather than wasting it on the commute. A bicycle only makes sense if you are a NEET who only goes outside to buy tendies at the store or if you are an office worker who lives in the same city as his job.

Even if that were true, recumbents have their own host of issues, significantly worse handling, much worse ride quality with smaller wheels to absorb road impacts etc. The only time they have a "real" advantage is on a track with well maintained pavement on a straight.

I have a JBL 5 speaker and blast music out of my backpack on my bike. older music with a more quiet mix struggles to overpower the sound of traffic but it's still better than earpods imo, those aren't very safe on a bike, electric cars and bikes are hard enough to hear as is
